Dutton/Dunwich Minor Ball Association is pleased to offer house league Softball for ages 2 - 7 every year.  This league focuses on fun and learning to play baseball.  The program is for kids of all ages, and all practices and games are held in Dutton - there is no travel.

Teams will play age appropriate House league teams other from within the Dutton Royals.  In 2024 will be a one (1) night a week program, with half of the time spent practising and the other half playing games.

2024 Schedule:

 U3 House League (2021-2022) U5 House League (2019-2020) U7 House League (2017-2018)
 Wednesdays Mondays Thursdays

We split our teams up usually based on age, so that teams can play other age-appropriate teams.  For game play and practices, pitching by the coaches/assistants and the use of Tees is encouraged in order to give the kids the best experience possible so they enjoy ball.

Our house league program follows the formerly recognized Timbit Softball program - in Ontario is a recreational youth softball program designed to introduce children to the fundamentals of the sport in a fun and supportive environment.

Here's an overview of what playing House league with the Dutton Royals entails:

  • Age Groups - our house league programming is for ages 2 - 7 years old.
  • Skill Development - the focus is on skill development and learning the basics of softball; throwing, catching, hitting and base running.
  • Modified Rules:  we use a specific softer ball for the younger ages, play on the smaller fields, and have modified rules which allow players to use Tees as needed.  Coaches will encourage players to learn to hit also from a pitcher (the coach or other parent volunteer).

Overall, our house league program is focused on introducing kids to the sport and giving them a fun, positive experience.
