Registration FAQ
Q: What is the difference between house league, softball/fastball, and hardball?
House League (U3-U7) is our learn to play baseball program that focuses on FUN and FUNdamentals. Softball/Fastball is played with a larger ball, and is underhand pitching. 4-Pitch is similar but involves some travel (Glencoe/Port Stanley/Chippewa). Our girls programs also participate in fastball.
Hardball is played with a hard smaller baseball and is played with overhand pitching.
Q: What is the weekly commitment for all programming?
House league has one weekly diamond time in Dutton, which is spent on a short practice followed by a game.
Travel teams also usually have at least one (1) practice a weeknight and one (1) game a week. It is possible your home weeknight might be your home game, and therefore coaches are able to schedule additional practices as needed. For travel teams (softball/fastball and hardball) you may have 1-2 weekend games as well here and there throughout the season.
Q: What travel is required?
House League teams do not require any travel, as the play in Dutton only.
Softball/Fastball teams and Hardball teams are registered with travel leagues that play up to one (1) hour away from Dutton.
Q: What are the volunteer fees?
Volunteer fees are collected in order to help keep our association running as an incentive for parents to volunteer. Volunteer fees are returned at the end of the season upon completion of volunteer hours. For more information please refer to the volunteer page.
